2008 - Edinburgh was voted 2nd place (to London) in this year's Condé Nast Traveller survey and has appeared in the top 10 since the survey began in 1998.

2007 - Edinburgh was voted favourite UK city for the 8th year in a row by readers of the Guardian.

Edinburgh made it into the the top 10 destinations as rated by Expedia customers in April 2007 along with  New York; Venice; Sydney; Cape Town; Tokyo; Barcelona; Rome; San Francisco; and Singapore.

Oct 2007 - Edinburgh is voted as the best town/city to live in by TV Channel 4's Location Location Location programme.
